Hey there! I’m Emma.

I’ve been part of the Pick-it-Fence family since I was 14 years old, and in 2010 I was incredibly fortunate to take over as owner of the Pembroke location at just 19 years old (yes—wild!). Looking back, I’m still amazed at how much trust the original owners placed in me at such a young age. Over the years, I’ve learned more than I ever could have imagined and have truly fallen in love with what I do.

I’m endlessly grateful to spend my days in such a beautiful space alongside the most supportive, hardworking team. Creativity has always been at the core of who I am, and I’m happiest when I’m in “creative mode”—designing store displays, dreaming up social content, and hunting for the next special piece to bring into the shop. Seeing customers walk in, take their time browsing, and genuinely delight in the store never fails to make me smile.

I was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley and have never left. I’m deeply thankful for my parents, who instilled in me a strong work ethic, kindness, and a solid moral compass. My family means everything to me, and I truly couldn’t do what I do without their support. I’m a mom to three energetic, wonderful boys and a wife to an incredible man. They are my “why.” Life is beautifully chaotic, and I wouldn’t change it for a thing.
